Sights and Sounds of Rome

Day Two #Italy Another beautiful day here in Rome. 30 degrees C. Had a lunch meeting and the afternoon free to explore more of this beautiful city. As I walked the streets, one can see there is a mix of the old and new! Everyone is on a cell phone, even the priests! Cobbled streets, hilly at times, uneven sidewalks all add charm to the sun-soaked streets.

Found my way to the Spanish steps located between Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Trinità dei Monti. Climbed to the top to enter the Trinità dei Monti church only to find the priest shaking his keys and knocking on the walls...he wanted us to leave, it was closing time. Perhaps I will have a better walk thru and prayer time when we return with the group in a few days.

Another cappuccino stop, and yes it was 8 euros!! You pay extra to sit and have a coffee unless you sit in a proper cafe. The 3.5-hour stroll took in many sights, smells, people watching, the magnificent Trevi Fountain - did you know that it has been said to take in 3000 euros in tossed coins per day! The day ended with a small cup of AMARENA GELATO.

Our group arrives tomorrow! Excited to show them #Italy
