Is your passport ready for travel?

International travel requires a valid passport. Depending on where you are travelling from you may even require a Visa in order to enter a Country. Today we are primarily focused on passports. We will definitely have more blogs about Travel Visas.

Before you start planning your next fabulous holiday, take a look at your passport, check the expiration date. Your passport should not expire 6 Months from your intended date of travel. If you discover that your passport is expiring and you are close to travel, contact your nearest Passport Office, they will advise the best practices to expedite a new passport.

If you are making your own travel arrangements or using your favourite travel advisor make sure you provide your name exactly as it appears on your passport. Quite often your given name is not one that you use on a daily basis. Names on travel documents must match that of your passport.

Success! You are now ready to travel, packed and well on your way to exploring and making new memories. While travelling, it is important that you keep your passport in good condition and safely tucked away for travel. You will need to show your passport at checkpoints like customs and when boarding an airplane. Be familiar where you are travelling to and the various gateways so you have what is required at various checkpoints. If you are unsure ask your Travel Advisor.

While in destination and ready to explore your new destination it is best to keep your passport at the hotel. If your hotel offers a safety box it is a good idea to use it. There may be a charge to use the hotel safety box. but it should be minimal. Sometimes hotels will refund the deposit, never hurts to ask.

Always check with your travel advisor and check your local Government web page for update travel information and travel advisories.

Enjoy your travels! Thank you for taking the time to tune in to our blogs.
